CommunicationHow about this。 The first time you see your want-to-be-mate， tell her why you denied her。 All this song and dance: No， yes， he broke my heart。。。 only for them to talk in the last 5 pages of the book。 Well written and had me going to the end。

Loved it but。。。Loved the story， the chemistry between the fmc and her fated mate was off the charts。 Sadly， the typos， misused words， misspelled words and even using the wrong name for a character detracted from my enjoyment of the book。

Gemma had to act as an omega so no one would find out that she was a rare alpha female and Ryker was her mate since he was 15 and her 15。 Had to reject her because he was being blackmailed so she ran to the vampire city where a vampire Alex helped her hide out。 Ryker found her and problems followed them， one her bio father found her and was giving her away。 Waiting to see how the next book is！

This book makes a point about the “Fated Mates” idea。 Gemma storms out of the pack’s territory after being verbally punched in the gut with Ryker’s rejection and manages to find a home in enemy territory。 But fate is fickle。 Fate determines her every decision， because her alpha b**ch is like a siren to men: they are destined to fall all over her， in theory。 I think that explains why a vampire would be immediately attracted to her and want to protect her。 Double whammy: Gemma is rejected， and she This book makes a point about the “Fated Mates” idea。 Gemma storms out of the pack’s territory after being verbally punched in the gut with Ryker’s rejection and manages to find a home in enemy territory。 But fate is fickle。 Fate determines her every decision， because her alpha b**ch is like a siren to men: they are destined to fall all over her， in theory。 I think that explains why a vampire would be immediately attracted to her and want to protect her。 Double whammy: Gemma is rejected， and she cannot trust the intentions of any shifter male if her secret is known。 She is so adamant to escape this trap that she later falls into it。 In theory， she could make her own way。 In theory， we could have a love triangle， and I really wish we had。 I only feel sympathy for Aleks， the wannabe lover。 While I love Gemma’s new life， Ryker’s sudden return into her life starts a plot twist chain， making him more sympathetic。 He wholeheartedly believes in following fate， even if she doesn’t。 I want to pin ribbons on the character development。 Each seems to have a backstory and strong motivations， even minor characters。 The plot is also outstanding， with plot twists that use her status and fate to round out the story。 Enough to make me want that love triangle！ I want to see Gemma pull against fate and prophecy， but maybe that is in the next novel。 This is first-person POV， my favorite。 If you like enemies to lovers， single POV， and adult themes， you will like this。 If you don’t like a damaged， angry main character， you might want to avoid reading this。 。。。more

Well written but I struggled to get investedSome books you read and you know that they're great the whole way through。 Some books you read and you know before the end （if you make it that far） that they're terrible。 Some books you have to finish reading and then reflect on what you've read to determine what you thought of them and whether you want to continue following the series。I'm putting this book in the 3rd category。 This book reads well， has a good flow。 The FMC is likeable and a bit badas Well written but I struggled to get investedSome books you read and you know that they're great the whole way through。 Some books you read and you know before the end （if you make it that far） that they're terrible。 Some books you have to finish reading and then reflect on what you've read to determine what you thought of them and whether you want to continue following the series。I'm putting this book in the 3rd category。 This book reads well， has a good flow。 The FMC is likeable and a bit badass。 There are enough unique little touches to vampire and shifter lore to give some difference to other books of the genre。 I'm sure there will be many readers who say that's great and give it 5 stars。For me however， I don't know if I will read the subsequent books。 There are a few issues for me that prevented me connecting with the characters or becoming invested in their journey。 Firstly this is one of those books where if the main 2 characters actually spoke straight to each other， it all would have been finished within a few chapters。 There were times where Gem requested an explanation or Ryker offered to give one， and then he would just say something irrelevant and no explanation would be given。 When at the end， an explanation is finally provided， there was no good reason that conversation didn't happen when Ryker appeared in the vamp city in the first place other than the fact that the story was dragged out to make the book longer。 There's also an issue of the book being quite repetitive with some facts being explained multiple times。 There were also some minor plot holes that didn't quite make sense。 I think with the current influx of rejected mate books， it's quite hard to make 1 stand out from the rest。 I can only imagine the difficulties authors have taking this genre and trying to give their readers something unique。 。。。more

Pretty good。 This is a pretty good book。 There were a few errors I noticed， but nothing horrible。 A few things happened I didnt see coming， and the book left me guessing as to what would happen in the end。 Whether she would take him back， choose someone else， what really happened， stuff like that。 It was good。
